BASEcamp: Believe. Act. Serve. Endure.

This summer marks the beginning of a new chapter in my life. I have the opportunity to be a counselor for a new program called BASEcamp. It is an area wide youth conference for 14-18 year olds. Let me give you some background information on the name, what it involves in relation to the Gospel, and how it has already blessed my life. When climbing, a BASEcamp is a place for rejuvenation and preparation for the rest of the climb up the mountain. Directly from the BASEcamp website: " BASEcamp: (bās’-cămp) n. 1) a gathering place to gain strength when attempting to ascend a mountain. 2) a position of safety and preparation for the challenges ahead. 3) a protected environment to gain greater knowledge and confidence for future opportunities and responsibilities. 4) Believe. Growing Pains

I was reading through some of my books today and found some really great quotes with one in particular that I am going to share with you all today. It comes from the book entitled Life Lessons from the Book of Mormon  by Jack R. Christianson and K. Douglas Bassett. "The Lord is intent on your personal growth and development. That progress is accelerated when you willingly allow Him to lead you through every growth experience you encounter, whether initially it be to your indiviual liking or not. When you trust in the Lord, when you are willing to let your heart and your mind be centered in His will, when you ask to be led by the Spirit to do His will, you are assured of the greatest happiness along the way and the most fulfilling attainment from this mortal experience.
