Joining the Blogging World

Well, hello there! Yes, I am joining the growing amount of bloggers on the web. I was going to wait until I was engaged or something, but who knows when that will be. But I've just been thinking a lot about the changes going on in my life and felt like I should do this.


Here are my reasons:
  • It will be fun to learn how to do this, especially if I end up doing something like this in a career, so might as well do it for fun and practice.
  • With my camp name being Ink, I think I need to write more, since it is something that I enjoy doing. I've just been so busy with school that I haven't really written anything for myself, and it's about time I did!
  • Another plug for my other post and why I called my new blog "Writing my Unwritten Chapters", recently I have really felt and heard from others that our lives are consisted of chapters. What is in the future is unwritten and so on here I hope to write about what is coming up in my life and help those who want to stay updated with me do so.
I think I have more reasons than that, but I can't think of them at the moment. Hmm...
Anyway, I kind of just want to kick off this blog with that, as well as with a brief testimony.


I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the true church here on the earth. I love being a member of this church and all the knowledge I have because of it. I'm so grateful for everything this Gospel brings to my life. I know that the Plan of Salvation is a gift from our loving Heavenly Father, and that I will be able to see all of my family again someday. I know I am doing the right things with my life right now, and it is such a comfort to know that whatever happens is because the Lord is watching out for us. I know that the Book of Mormon is true and that Joseph Smith translated it as the first prophet of this dispensation. There have been times in my life where I've felt very alone, but I know I'm never alone because of the sacrifice my Savior Jesus Christ made for me with the Atonement. I know we will all be resurrected someday and live with all of our loved ones as we live the commandments and strive to come closer to Christ. I love this Gospel, my Heavenly Father, and my Savior with all of my heart and know all of these things to be true. I say that in His name, Jesus Christ, Amen.

General Conference has always been a family event for my family. We would have family travel from out of state just to come and listen to prophets and apostles of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints speak to the world. One of our family's tradition is to have M&Ms while watching and playing Conference Bingo. I can't imagine watching conference without one or both during most if not all sessions. I have always loved Conference. Their words inspired and lift me. Even though they are speaking to millions of people all over the world, they somehow know just what to say that soothes my soul and is exactly what I need in my life. His Hand in Your Life

I was talking with a friend earlier this week about life and how we got to where we are right now. It got me thinking a lot about how the Lord's hand has directly guided my life. We don't always know why things happen the way they do. Actually most of the time we don't understand that, but the Lord knows. He will choose to tell us when we need to know, even if that isn't until the next life. I know that everything happens for a reason. I have had my share of frustrating moments where I wish I knew why things happen the way the way they do right now, but I'm grateful that the Lord is in charge of everything. I seriously have been able to see how the Lord has connected different events in my life. One thing didn't happen the way I had hoped, but it led to other things that helped take my life in a better, but different direction. In Christ Alone

 Hello there!  I have been deciding for three months what my first post back from the mission should be about. It has been hard to decide and I finally realized what it needed to be about - our Savior Jesus Christ.  Before my mission, I knew my Savior was there for me. He had helped me during my hard times, especially when Mom passed away, and I felt the "balm in Gilead" heal me. But I had never truly realized that He could help me change, truly change.  During the summer of 2014 at BASEcamp, we sang a song made popular by Owl City "In Christ Alone". It's actually an old Christian song sung in many different congregations all over. I had never heard it until Owl City sang it. The words have made an impact on me.
