Constant Change

The only thing more constant in our lives is how everything changes. Things don't stay the same for very long no matter how much we want it to. Especially when it comes to callings within the church.
I have seen two bishopric changes this summer- one was my brother-in-law Jeff being made bishop in his ward, and my singles ward bishopric.
With bishoprics, you can see a visible change of the mantle within the countenance of those being released and called. Other callings can do the same, but I don't think I've seen as a visible change. I know that as I have been called to be the Relief Society Secretary that I feel more inspiration in my meetings, and I am striving to be able to feel more inspiration from the Spirit more often. The Spirit is overwhelming sometimes, and I just pray for the new bishops in my life that they can not feel too overwhelmed with everything and can know how to make everything work through the Lord.

On a more worldly note about change, this summer has been one of many changes. I mean....seriously!

  • New apartment & new ward
  • A dating life!
  • New friends
  • Figuring out a new job
  • And a new school in a few weeks
Like I've said before, moving to Orem was the biggest leap of faith I've taken in a long time, but I know the Lord blessed me for doing so. He gave me great friends, the chance to serve, and new life experiences.
I'm so grateful for change, even though as the school year draws closer, it's scaring the begeebies out of me!

I just hope I can keep my head on straight and remember the constants in my life through the clouds of change.
