I'm Going There Someday

I cannot WAIT to be able to go through the temple!
Tonight was our ward temple night and it was so awesome!
I love going to do baptisms and getting away from the world, even if it was just for a moment. I cannot even comprehend what it's going to be like to go upstairs.

Last Thursday, I went with Trevor, Drew, and Alan to the St. George Temple-Talk about incredible!
It is probably the most unique temple I have ever been to!
(Picture or two coming soon.... promise! I just need to charge my camera battery...)
The baptismal font reminded me of the one in Manti, but also unlike any others! If I remember the history correctly, St. George was actually the first temple to be built in Utah, followed by Logan, Manti and Salt Lake. Huh. It was such a neat experience!

As I was down in the baptistery by myself, I wanted more than anything to be upstairs in the session with the boys. I want to receive the blessings and just be able to be there!
However, in my Sunday School class on Sunday, I learned about Joseph F. Smith, the son of Hyrum Smith, who helped his widowed mother and his siblings come across the plains as a five-year-old, and also was called as a missionary at 15. While he was serving in the field, he had a dream. He was covered in dirt or filth and had to clean himself off because he could go inside of what seemed to be a temple. He knocked on the door once he was clean and the man who answered said, "Joseph, you're late." "I know, but at least I am clean."
For some reason, this just resonated with me on Sunday. I am not late, but it's not my time to go inside the temple just yet. When it is time, though, it's going to be amazing. I can't wait for that wonderful day.
I love serving how I can at the temple right now. I have found that I can't stay away. My weeks feel off when I can't get to it at least once. It is my safe haven from the world and all of the jumble going on around me. I love making time for the temple and my wonderful friends and roommates who do the same.

I love to see the temple. I'll go inside, someday :)
