Faith, Hope, and the Atonement

Happy Easter! I know this post will end up saying April 1 on it, but I wanted to express my gratitude and love before I went to sleep after this wonderful Easter Sunday.

My testimony has been strengthened today. I Know that the Lord is mindful of us, even with the smallest things.
Here's my reason today: My care has been overheating for some reason. Two weeks ago I realized it was going above the "H" on the temperature gauge and got worried. I took it in to Jiffy Lube and got the coolant fluids flushed. That helped for about a week, which meant up until last (Saturday) night. I started freaking out because I was going out to Tooele to visit my family for Easter but was worried my car would get really damaged if I did. Trevor and I decided to pray for help and peace. We felt like we would be okay, so we headed out this morning. We said another prayer before we left. My car did great. It stayed about normal to slightly above normal the whole trip there. We had a great day at church and at the house visiting and playing games with everyone.
It came time to head home and we were on our way. My car had been sitting outside the house all day, so we thought it would be okay, but not long after we left it started overheating again. We decided to pull over where it would be lighter and pour water and some ice on it and pray again. We did so, and I felt so much peace. I still feel peace as I think about it now. As we started driving again, it started raining, and the temperature gauge stayed at normal the whole rest of the way home. I feel truly blessed.

Even though this is something so small in the grande scheme of things, it meant a lot to me today that the Lord wanted to take care of us and that He did. This has strengthened my faith and hope in the Lord- if He is willing to help my car run in order for us to get home, then He definitely is willing to help me with anything, especially to find healing and peace through the Atonement.

I love my Savior and am so grateful for all that He does for me each day. Even if I don't recognize it, He blesses me in so many moments. I love Him and am striving to become more like Him in all that I do.

At church before this all happened, we watched a video that touched my heart. Here is a link to it (click here). This impressed me in a way I had never thought of before.

I was also touched by the simple words of a primary song about our Savior, "He Sent His Son". Here are the lyrics:
"How could the Father tell the world of love and tenderness?
He sent his Son, a newborn babe, with peace and holiness.
How could the Father show the world the pathway we should go?
He sent his Son to walk with men on earth, that we may know.
How could the Father tell the world of sacrifice, of death?
He sent his Son to die for us and rise with living breath.
What does the Father ask of us? What do the scriptures say?
Have faith, have hope, live like His Son, help others on their way.
What does he ask? Live like his Son."

We can become like our Savior Jesus Christ. We can become like His Son. It isn't easy, but it is possible.

I testify that Jesus is the Christ and that His Father, our Father in Heaven, sent Him here to give us the greatest example of how to live. Because Christ was willing to come to earth and die for us, we are able to live again. Christ suffered in agony and did that alone. Because He walked that path alone, He truly knows what we feel and what we go through. He KNOWS since He has gone through it all, emotionally and spiritually, too. Christ walked the path alone so that we don't have to. I love my Savior so much and am promising today to become better and allow Him to help me more since He understands me better than anyone. I challenge you all to do the same. This is my witness and testimony.
