Right Things, Right Times, Right Places
Have you ever heard how important it is to be doing the right things, at the right times, and in the right places?
I had a really cool experience this past weekend that I want to share with you.
So I'm trying my best to make it to the temple once a week, especially since I live so close to so many. It was Saturday night, and I realized that I hadn't made it yet. The temple was closed by the time I was leaving a friend's apartment, but I decided to go and sit outside. I was pondering and praying and had been sitting there for awhile, when this girl came out, and sat on the bench I was sitting on. I thought at first she had just sat on the other end, but then I realized she sat right next to me when she turns to me and says, "I normally don't bother people when they're meditating, but I felt like I should come talk to you." (She might have said "I wanted to come talk to you", but I honestly just remember this gist).
Kind of startled but surprisingly okay with this, I began talking to her. We talked about our life, where we are from, where we're going to school, what we're studying, and some goals and aspirations. She was mostly asking me all the questions (she didn't really give me a chance to ask her any...) and I told her what I could. She asked me why I had gone to the temple that night, and I said, "I need peace and clarity in my life." She then asked me what I want to do and I said social media and things like that in regards to Public Relations. I also told her, "Honestly, I just want to make a difference in the world. No matter what I end up doing, I want to make a difference for people."
She then told me how she works for a company who does social media research and promotion about the Church, not endorsed by the Church, but the ideas and beliefs of the church. She asked if I need an internship and would be interested in one. I said, "Absolutely!" She didn't give me any details, but she did get my contact information and said she would be in touch.
I don't know what will happen of that meeting, but I do know that I was blessed with this experience because I striving to do the right things and be in the right places at the right times.
I have been through a lot this summer. I have had my heart broken, and have also had the opportunity for the Lord to heal me. His hand has been in my life every step of the way. He has blessed me immensely as I have been working toward following Him and becoming better. I am truly grateful for the tender mercies He blesses me with and all that He does for me. This experience testifies to me of the importance of always striving to do what I can to become a better disciple of Christ and how we can be blessed for doing all we can to come unto Him.
How have you been blessed as you have been doing the right things in the right times and right places?
