Wednesday Words

Hey guys! So in order to post more regularly, I have come up with series with names alliterating the day of the week they're posted.

Today's Wednesday Words are not my own.  They are from The Anima Series, a group who is creating inspirational videos of people to help spread the Spirit of Christ and share people's talents. I found these videos and I am deeply touched.

What an inspiration to us all. I got the chills as I watched the one for women. I hope you believe these words. On days when you don't, I hope you watch this again and again until you do believe the words are true.

Oakcrest has changed my life

I went to a "farewell" on Sunday of one of the sisters I worked with at Oakcrest girls' camp during the summer of 2010. It has made me think a lot back to that summer and why it was such an amazing experience. I was also talking to my bishop that night to receive some counsel and the things he said reminded me of our theme from that summer. That is why I dedicate this blog post to Oakcrest. Making Decisions and Setting Goals

You know, it's really hard to make decisions. Especially when you are choosing between lots of good things. Maybe that's why it's so hard for me to make decisions is because I am choosing between LOTS of GOOD things. All I know right now is that I have a lot of good things behind me and more good things ahead of me. I also realized that a lot of is because of hard work. I have many decisions that I am making in my life right now, but also many goals I am setting. I like to make lots of goals toward things, but often get brought down by the bar I set for myself. Thus, I have decided to set some new goals and work little by little to achieve them. I will share a few to help hold myself accountable: Lose 20 pounds by the July 31, 2013.  Eat healthier and on a more consistent schedule. Drink more water. Read at least one chapter in the Book of Mormon everyday. Attend the temple at least every other week. Are these pretty good ones to start with? I hope so. I ha...

Three years feels like a Lifetime

Three years ago today, I lost the most amazing woman I have ever known. My mom, Clara Marie Shelley McNeill, passed away after a roller-coaster of being sick and trying to recover. Mom is the most Christlike person I have ever known. She always put everyone above herself. She was always there for me and did everything she could for those she loved. She is the greatest example to me in just about every aspect of my life, especially how to be a good woman in the church and a mother. I remember her being a faithful visiting teacher, being the glue to our immediate and extended families, being the one anyone could turn to for advice, being the most dedicated and diligent worker even if she was exhausted, and being the best Mom I could ever ask for. I'll always remember her listening to her music in her sewing room while she was ironing, rubbing her feet and having late night talks with her, going on errands, doing the dreaded yardwork and seeing her and my dad in the grungy cl...
