9 Ways to Share the Gospel Online

Image
Hello everyone! I wanted to take what I've learned this semester through my internship and share 9 ways that you can share your testimony of the Gospel through social media sites. 1. Be authentic. Sometimes we are worried of offending people, especially via social media, but you can share your beliefs without being preachy. It's so easy through sharing uplifting videos, quotes, songs, photos, conference talks, and so much more through any of the social media sites you use. It also doesn't mean that everything you post has to be church related. We're trying to show the world that we're normal people, too, and care about a lot of things, including our faith. 2. Have in your profile bios either "LDS" or "Mormon". No matter how many profiles you have, it's important to have the fact that you're a member of the Church in there. Here is what my Twitter profile looks like: It's common to see #LDS or #Mormon or #twitterstake on Tw...

Why I Believe: General Conference

Image
Awhile ago I started a bunch of blog post drafts creating a new series: Why I Believe.  I didn't end up writing any posts, so I'm not sure what I was exactly thinking when I came up with them, but the great thing is I can figure it out along the way, right? :) As I am preparing to submit my mission papers next week (yes, that's where I'm at in the process!) and because I love the Gospel, I want to share my thoughts and beliefs about various Church topics. Why I Believe: General Conference General Conference happens every six months, on the first weekends of April and October, and members of the LDS church listen to leaders give talks for about 10 hours. You read that right - 10 hours   of direct revelation from God to His children! What a blessing! There are 5 sessions during the main weekend: Saturday Morning, Saturday Afternoon, Priesthood Session, Sunday Morning and Sunday Afternoon. Each session is 2 hours long. The week before the main ses...

Update of my journey

Hi everyone! I'm sorry I haven't posted in awhile. Life has been crazy. And I thought I was going to go to the library last night and work on homework, but turns out that I was just fired up with excitement about hastening the work online from my amazing day! I am currently a social media intern at a non-profit organization called The More Good Foundation. Remember that time I met this girl outside the temple and told me about a possible internship opportunity ? Yeah, I am now working at the place she told me about. Because of that, I get to see awesome things like this: This is the Angel Moroni being placed on top of the Provo City Center Temple. I've never seen one be put on before. How cool is that??! Then we had an awesome event going on called the #LDSShareExpo. It was a conference where you could come learn about different ways to share the Gospel online through various social media platforms. Originally this post was going to be tips I learned at the expo, a...
